Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chatova ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Chatova AI Plus iOS application (the "App") and related services.
1. Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account info: email address, full name, and a hashed password if you register with email; or a stable identifier issued by Apple or Google if you use Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Conversations: the messages you send to the AI assistant and the AI's responses are stored on our servers so you can pick up where you left off.
- Image prompts: the text you submit for image generation and the resulting image URL.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription and which plan, derived from Apple's StoreKit transactions.
Information collected automatically
- Device identifiers: the iOS Vendor Identifier (IDFV); the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission.
- Usage data: messages sent, models selected, errors encountered, app version, OS version, language preference.
- Crash data: anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the AI chat and image generation features you request.
- To maintain your account, conversation history, and subscription status.
- To measure app performance and prevent abuse (rate limits, fraud).
- To attribute installs and purchases to marketing campaigns when you grant tracking consent.
- To respond to support requests.
3. Third-party services
Chatova relies on the following third-party services. Each handles data under its own policy.
- OpenAI — your messages and image prompts are forwarded to OpenAI's API to generate responses (GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini) and images (DALL·E 3). See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
- Sign in with Apple — system-level authentication framework. We receive a stable identifier and, if you choose, your email.
- Google Sign-In — when you choose Google as a sign-in method, Google sends us your verified email and basic profile.
- AppsFlyer — marketing attribution. Initialised only after you accept App Tracking Transparency. See AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy.
- Appodeal — rewarded ads for non-subscribers. Initialised only after ATT consent. See Appodeal Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store — purchase processing for in-app subscriptions.
4. Data retention
We keep your account and conversations until you delete them or your account. When you delete your account, all associated conversations, messages, and subscription records are permanently removed from our database, and Sign in with Apple refresh tokens are revoked at Apple per Guideline 5.1.1(v).
5. Your rights
- Access your account info from the in-app Settings screen.
- Update your name, language, and other profile fields at any time.
- Delete your account from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. The deletion is immediate and irreversible.
- Object to tracking by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt or by toggling tracking off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Residents of the EU, UK, or California can exercise additional rights (data portability, restriction of processing, etc.) by emailing support@chatovaai.ink.
6. Data security
All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. Servers are firewalled, key-only SSH access, and isolated databases on a private network.
7. Children
Chatova AI Plus is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
8. International transfers
Our servers and our third-party processors (OpenAI, Apple, Google, AppsFlyer, Appodeal) operate from the United States and the European Union. By using the App you consent to your data being transferred to these regions.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
